Jackson Care Connect supports Jackson County food bank efforts amid government shutdown
Jackson Care Connect (JCC) is taking action to aid those affected by the disruption in SNAP (food) benefits and address rising food insecurity across Southern Oregon by donating $10,000 to United Way of Jackson County. The funds will support the United Way’s Food is FUNdamental campaign, a local initiative to support local food banks during this period of uncertainty.
“JCC is so grateful for community partners like United Way who are moving quickly to help community members who are affected by SNAP disruptions,” says Sam Watson, Director of Community Health Partnerships for JCC. “Being able to put food on the table is essential to our members’ physical and mental well-being.”
JCC and United Way also encourage Jackson County community members to donate to their local food bank to help support their neighbors.
