CareOregon adopts new prior authorization vendor for certain services

Apr 15, 2026, 21:23 PM

This is a reminder that CareOregon is adopting a new platform for prior authorizations for certain services for Jackson Care Connect, CareOregon/Health Share, Columbia Pacific CCO, and CareOregon Advantage effective May 1, 2026.

HealthHelp is a specialty benefit management company that is now working with CareOregon to administer prior authorizations for the following:

  • Cardiac Services (Imaging, Devices, Interventional)
  • Diagnostic Imaging
  • MSK / Interventional Pain / Physical Medicines
  • Sleep Medicine
  • Genetic Testing

All prior authorizations for the above services will be submitted through the HealthHelp portal beginning May 1, 2026. You can view the list of specific codes here. Codes not listed here should still be submitted through Connect.

Prior authorization submission guidance

The prior authorization process through HealthHelp follows a specific process for submission. This process is different than how codes are submitted in Connect, so we encourage you to read the documentation on the HealthHelp website in depth. Specifically, please view the documents under the ‘Helpful Documents’ section to learn more about bundled codes.

  • Dates of service before May 1, 2026
    • For prior authorizations for a service line now covered by HealthHelp for dates of service before May 1, 2026, providers should submit prior authorization requests to CareOregon via the Connect portal. If you are unable to submit via the Connect portal, fax an exception form to CareOregon. All dates of service on the exception form must be prior to May 1, 2026.
    • Retro Facility Authorization Form (OHP and Medicare)
    • Retro Office Clinic Authorization Form (OHP and Medicare)
  • Dates of service on or after May 1, 2026
    • For prior authorizations for a service line now covered by HealthHelp for dates of service on or after May 1, 2026, providers should submit prior authorization requests using the HealthHelp portal.

If you are unable to fax the form, you can email it to CareOregon Provider Relations and our team will fax the form on behalf of the provider:

  • CareOregon/Health Share: Metroprs@careoregon.org
  • Jackson Care Connect: jacksonprs@careoregon.org
  • Columbia Pacific CCO: colpacPRS@careoregon.org
